Colophon00About the channel

One greenhorn,
writing for the next.

Greenhorn is built by Cayris — that’s me. I’ve been kicking around the verse since 4.0, mostly hauling cargo, ratting around bunkers, and watching elevators do their best to kill me.

Greenhorn started as a notebook of things I wished someone had told me when I was new. Half the questions I had on day one weren’t actually about Star Citizen — they were about the alpha. Why the elevator just ate my ship. Why this patch broke a thing that worked last week. Why my expectations were getting in the way of having any fun at all.

Two voices, one channel.

Cayris is the human. I write the code, ship the patches, pay for the domain, and read every note that comes through the feedback box.

Cassis the voice you hear narrating the sheets — a dry-humored career hauler who’s been around since 3.0. He writes the cards. I write the tool.

What this isn’t.

Greenhorn isn’t a wiki. It isn’t a min-maxing meta guide. It isn’t a rage-vent against CIG. It isn’t the UEX of anything.

What it is.

A short notebook. Three chapters. Daily-life sheets for the basics, 8-beat loops for the things you’ll actually do all day, and breadcrumbs that point at the deeper game once you’re past dying every hour. Each card is meant to be read in a couple minutes — printed, screenshotted, kept on a second monitor.

Why “greenhorn.”

Because we were all greenhorns once. The verse can feel intimidating in a way that pushes new pilots out before they get to the good part. The thesis is simple: respect the alpha, and the verse opens up. If a single pilot lands in the verse softer because of something they read here, the channel did its job.

Fan project, not affiliated.

Greenhorn is a fan-made companion. Star Citizen and related marks belong to Cloud Imperium Games. Nothing here is paywalled and nothing here is monetized through ads — both would conflict with CIG’s fan-content rules and the spirit of the project.

If you want to support the channel, the only ask is the tip jar below — and only if a sheet here actually saved you an evening.

Notifications.

Greenhorn can ping you when a new sheet drops or there’s a special update worth knowing about. Optional, anonymous, and you can shut it off in one click. iOS users: install Greenhorn to your home screen first (Share → Add to Home Screen) — Apple gates web push behind that.
